Sixfold Technologies Launches at Cluster 2002-- Announces Sixfold PXE Server for blade and cluster computing

September 24, 2002, Chicago, IL -- Sixfold Technologies LLC makes its debut today at the IEEE Cluster 2002 conference. The company, which provides software and infrastructure for blade and cluster computing, will demonstrate the Sixfold PXE Server, the first in a series of high-performance products.

Sixfolds focus is on solving critical problems that face early adopters of blade and cluster hardware platforms. The best systems in the world now run on clusters, which harness massive computing power through a large installation of coordinated workstations or PCs," says Chief Executive Officer Haim Bodek. Sixfold will provide core software and infrastructure products for blade and cluster computing so that companies dont have to re-create the wheel -- they can focus on their primary business processes rather than on infrastructure."

Sixfolds first product, the Sixfold PXE Server, is a network server appliance that provides rapid automated deployment and boot services for blade and cluster hardware. We chose to begin with the PXE Server because we feel automated system provisioning lies at the heart of self-healing and adaptive networks," comments Ivan Pulleyn, Sixfolds Chief Technical Officer. Existing methods of deployment and management, where servers are administered on an individual basis, are becoming prohibitively cumbersome." The company will be beta testing the Sixfold PXE Server with early customers and expects to release it at the Super Computing 2002 conference on November 18, 2002.

Sixfold Technologies LLC is privately held by its founders, Haim Bodek and Ivan Pulleyn, both of whom have extensive real-world experience in high-performance computing environments. Bodek comes to Sixfold from his post as a Vice President in Financial Engineering at The Hull Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs. Pulleyn has provided software development leadership to several technology start-ups, most recently as Chief Software Architect at InfoBlox, creator of the DNS One server appliance.
