Searches for Small Cars Increase Dramatically on Desperate Seller

Following the high fuel prices consumers have endured over the past few months, together with the start of a new university year, consumer searches for smaller cars have increased dramatically according to the latest figures from Desperate Seller.co.uk.

(PRWEB) October 11, 2006 -- The Ford Fiesta, Ford’s supermini has topped small car searches on the site for the past month. It’s not surprising; incredibly spacious for this category and great value for money, overall the Fiesta is a fantastic performer. Coming a close second is the reliable and highly popular VW Polo. A solid car with plenty of space, top class residual values and a comfortable and easy drive, its understandable why the VW Golf has show significant increases in the number of searches on Desperate Seller.co.uk.

Other vehicles showing significant increases in the number of searches include, the Honda Civic, Fiat Punto and Renault Clio, offering some of the best small cars around.

“One of the ways we know that people are looking more for smaller-sized and compact vehicles is by monitoring the search activity on our website," said Russell Berry, co-founder of Desperate Seller.co.uk. "However, even as smaller cars are gaining in popularity, searches on the site still remain consistently high for fuel efficient vehicles.”

The Toyota Prius, recognised as the UK’s greenest family car, has featured in the Top 10 number of vehicle searches on Desperate Seller for the past seven consecutive months. The five door Prius uses battery power to back up a 1.5-litre petrol engine and emits just 104g/km of CO2, the lowest of any fuel efficient vehicle available for sale.

If you’re looking for a new or used car, start your search with Desperate Seller.co.uk, the UK’s leading car selling website.
