Writing Competition - Spread the Love with a Story
Smink Works Books is inviting writers to ‘spread the love’ via its annual short story competition.
Melbourne, Victoria (PRWEB) October 14, 2006 -- They say love makes the world go round – it’s the most sung about, written about and talked about topic on the planet; now Smink Works Books is inviting writers to ‘spread the love’ via its annual short story competition.
And so the theme of this year’s competition is:
The Three Forms of Love - Eros, Pathos, and Agape; eros being an erotic form of love, pathos meaning friendship love, and agape, the love of all living things, or unconditional love.
The theme is open to creative interpretation, but Smink Works Books publisher Suzanne Male points out that they do have one stipulation - they are seeking positive, enriching tales.
“Writers can write about one of the forms of love, or all three,” she says.
The standout stories entered into the competition will be published in an anthology.
“The idea is to produce a book with stories that are not only original, but will inspire and uplift readers,” Ms Male says.
Entries can be up to 1000 words and the competition closes on 1 December 2006. There is an entry fee of $10. First prize is $100, second prize $60 and third prize $40.
The competition will be judged by author and accomplished short story winner Georgiann Baldino.
