Asheville Celebrates Human Potential Throughout the Month of November
Mayor Terry M. Bellamy has proclaimed the entire month of November 2006, "Maximize Your Potential Month."
Asheville, NC (PRWEB) October 14, 2006 -- Mayor Terry M. Bellamy has proclaimed the entire month of November 2006, "Maximize Your Potential Month."
Noting that Maximize Your Potential Month "helps people to be courageous in celebrating their self worth, inner strength, passion, values, and their tenacity," the Mayor's proclamation encourages all citizens -- of Asheville and the entire nation -- to engage in "renewal of spirit, appreciation, acknowledgement, expanding of ideas and techniques, improving relationship(s), empowering people to move forward… motivating people and build(ing) cohesiveness."
Maximize Your Potential Month was the brainchild of Annmarie Edwards, M.A., of Weaverville, business owner/NAFE member, Who's Who of American Women, teacher, speaker, and author of 50 Ways to Maximize Your Potential and three other books (published by Aria Research Group). "Human beings are capable of greatness, "said Edwards, 44, "It's well known that most people only use about 10 percent of their brainpower, and even that has been enough to build a great civilization. If we learned to use even another 10 percent, I'm convinced that we could build a society with peace, prosperity, and the ability to generate new discoveries that we can't even imagine."
As a first step toward that prosperity, Edwards will partner with Manna Food bank to organize a food drive during Maximize Your Potential Month. Additionally, Edwards will feed the homeless with her youth group and organize a book drive for children in orphanage.
Edwards' book, available online at www.ariaresearchgroup.com or by calling 828-278-0632, is full of practical suggestions on how to reduce stress, increase health, and work to your fullest. Recognizing the importance of humor, the book is peppered with cartoons. In one of these a doctor advises his patient, "My advice if you want to maintain your health is avoid seconds…meals, martinis, and mortgages."
Journalists: Annmarie Edwards is happy to do both phone and in-studio interviews. Please select the following link for a copy of the proclamation.
