Hollywood, California (PRWEB) October 17, 2006 –- LitCentral (LitCentral.com Web Site) today introduced LitCentral Film Edition, a groundbreaking Web and desktop based script management system that streamlines the script selection and management process by making it easier for writers, agencies, production companies, and studios to work as a single system.

Developed specifically for the film industry, LitCentral Film Edition provides a first-of-its-kind script grading system that standardizes and quantifies script coverage, offers easy “at a glance” graphical comparisons between scripts, and manages the workflow of the script development process. Acting as an internal and external infrastructure in which literary assets can be distributed and communicated to various entities, within a secure network, agencies, production companies and studios can assess the quality of a script prior to production.

How LitCentral Film Edition Works
LitCentral Film Edition is a desktop and Web-based script coverage and management system that streamlines the development of screenplays from initial tracking and coverage to production.

The unique patent-pending LitCentral script grading system streamlines the development process by providing a methodology that consistently assesses and analyzes over 20 elements of a script. LitCentral’s coverage analysis is based on their use of a “rubric”, a grading method currently used by academia – particularly liberal arts programs.

LitCentral CEO and screenwriter Robin Hillary said “Script coverage today is wildly inconsistent from reader to reader. By the time a script reaches the studio, it can have 20 different coverage reports attached with 20 different opinions. By creating a system that can quantify the subjective feedback, LitCentral reduces the high risk associated with selecting the scripts that are given the green light.”

LitCentral grading results can be viewed graphically for rapid visual and statistical analysis of each script. Using the statistical data generated from the report, coverage by multiple readers can be compared. Scripts can be archived by multiple parameters such as genre and lead character, as well as more advanced options such as premise, protagonist and inciting incident.
