AFI FEST presented by Audi is celebrating its 20th year in 2006. AFI FEST spans 10 days each November, featuring international films from emerging filmmakers, the latest work from great film masters and nightly red carpet gala premieres. With its timing at the beginning of the awards season and its setting in the film capital of the world, the Festival's programs and partnerships all serve to position AFI FEST as one of the most influential film festivals in North America. Since forming a strategic partnership in 2004, the American Film Market and AFI FEST presented by Audi have become the largest gathering of film industry professionals in North America. Organizers predict that turnout for this year will easily top the 2005 attendance of more than 9,000 individuals, from 70 countries, working in all facets of the motion picture industry. AFI FEST provides a significant US platform for both national and international cinema as the awards season kick-off event.
