EuroMillions, the pan-European lottery, has not been won for 10 weeks, says lottery.co.uk. The estimated jackpot has now reached €152,000,000, which is roughly $190,000,000 or £100,000,000.
Harrogate, UK (PRWEB) November 10, 2006 -- EuroMillions, the pan-European lottery, has not been won for 10 weeks, says lottery.co.uk. The estimated jackpot has now reached €152,000,000, which is roughly $190,000,000 or £100,000,000. Unlike in American state lotteries, and many national lotteries, this sum is paid out in a lump sum to the winners.
The biggest single winner of EuroMillions was Dolores McNamara, a former chemist assistant, aged 50, who had to flee her family home in County Limerick, Ireland when she won €115,000,000 (around $146 million or £77 million) in August 2005.
The largest jackpot to date came in February this year when three lucky winners shared €183,573,078
Under Euromillions lottery rules, if the jackpot goes unclaimed for 12 weeks then it will be distributed to the next tier (match five numbers and one lucky number).
EuroMillions lottery was launched in 2004 and is operated by Camelot in the UK, and lottery operators in France, Belgium, Austria, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland. Chances of winning the Jackpot are over 76 million to 1, but that's because you have to correctly select five numbers between 1 and 50, and two star numbers between 1 and 9.
