UK (PRWEB) November 17, 2006 -- Scotland's Tartan Army is traveling from Glasgow to Paris, return, by charter Trains & Eurostar to the Scotland v. The Famous Tartan Army Magazine requires a charter Train from Glasgow's Central Station to travel overnight on 10th September, 2007 direct to Waterloo Station in London. The 680 passengers will then board 2 consecutive Eurostar services from Waterloo for Paris. The return is on 13th September.

John Tannock from The Famous Tartan Army Magazine has assembled the travel & hotel offering for the readers. He told Train Chartering that fans wanted a change from air travel. He expects a great atmosphere on board the Trains on the way to this important match.

The environment also benefits. The return journey by air would release around 367kgs CO2 per passenger, which compares with 127kgs by train (based on The National Energy Foundation's CO2 calculator).

Simon Pielow from Train Chartering says "Train Chartering contributes once again to the new age of rail. Glasgow to Paris with one change of train for this large group is great for the organizer, the fans and the environment."

Train Chartering (www.trainchartering.com) is the pioneer of a coordinated approach to sourcing, theming and crewing special trains for large group travel, corporate & private events, film locations & airport or cruise liner transfers. This full service approach is enhanced by comprehensive guest management, including ground handling & transfer services.

Notes for editors

1.   Photographs & press briefing notes from 01923-783 347.
2.   A private train is the most comfortable way to travel on land. Train Chartering plans the best train, route & timetable for the client. For The Famous Tartan Army Magazine, Train Chartering is offering a charter Train for 680 passengers in the UK and large group travel on 2 consecutive Eurostar services (340 passengers per Eurostar).
3.   The journey between Glasgow and London Waterloo is very unusual, both for the direct routing and for being overnight.
4.   The National Energy Foundation's CO2 calculator has been used for environmental comparisons. www.nef.org.uk/energyadvice/co2calculator.htm
