Haunted Trail and Pumpkin Patch Come Alive in October at Uncle Shuck's Corn Maze

It's not as scary as Jack Nicholson in "The Shining", but wandering through one maze at night in October is gaining popularity from teenagers to mom and dad. Uncle Shuck's Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, the closest maze to metro Atlanta in Georgia, expects over 10,000 people on the nine special nights at this year's Haunted Trail. And the operator expects to raise over $10,000 for charity.

Dawsonville, GA (PRWEB) September 28, 2006 –- Ghosts, quicksand and tombstones emerge along a one-mile haunted trail each October in Dawson County, Georgia. The fifth annual haunting of Uncle Shuck's Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch will take place over nine nights in October, beginning Friday, October 13 and culminating on Tuesday, October 31.

There are four miles of trails in two labyrinths at the popular north Atlanta metro agri-tainment complex, and a separate pathway is turned into a spooky adventure, rather than a gory screamfest. The haunted maze is open from dusk to 10pm on the nine selected evenings:
Fri, Oct 13 and Sat, Oct 14
Fri, Oct 20 and Sat, Oct 21
Fri, Oct 27, Sat, Oct 28, Sun Oct 20, Mon, Oct 30 and Tue, Oct 31.

All children 12 and under must be accompanied in the haunted maze with a parent. No flashlights are allowed during the haunt, but special fluorescent light sticks are available at the maze for an additional charge. Individual tickets to the Haunted Maze are $10.00 per child or senior citizen and $11.00 per adult. Part of the proceeds from these tickets will benefit the Forsyth County and Dawson County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Program.

“In 2005 we raised over $10,000 for the Explorer Program and it was their largest fundraiser of the year. They are a great help with our sound and visual effects for the haunted maze. We have a lot of return customers for the haunted maze each season,” said maze owner and operator Mike Pinzl of Alpharetta, Ga.

In addition to the special Halloween-themed evenings, the Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch will be open every day in October. A new combo ticket for maze entry, a hayride and bonfire experience along the Etowah River is available for $11 per person. Regular admission for the maze is $8 for children/seniors, $9 for adults, free for children 3 and younger. There is no admission fee for the Pumpkin Patch or use of the Picnic Pavilion. The maze will hold Family Fun Days for the first three weekends in November, and the final day of the 2006 season will be November 19.

Located on Georgia Highway 53 just two miles west of GA 400 in Dawson County, Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch is the most convenient maze to metro Atlanta, and is supported by Atlanta Parent. Group rates are available for youth groups and company team building outings. For more information call 1-888-OSHUCKS or check out www.uncleshucks.com.
