Top 10 Signs of Infidelity Found to Be Misleading By Infidelity Expert's New Research

Infidelity expert's research reveals how top 10 signs of infidelity can lead to falsely accusing innocent mates. New findings indicate that those seeking evidence of a cheating spouse should focus on 21 areas of concern

(PRWEB) October 10, 2007 -- Fourteen years of ongoing research by a leading infidelity expert have consistently revealed that the top 10 signs of infidelity can mislead suspicious mates who are seeking evidence of an affair.

According to infidelity expert Ruth Houston, founder of InfideltyAdvice.com, suspicious spouses should put less emphasis on the top 10 signs of infidelity, and focus instead on 21 areas of concern.

Because people rely so heavily on the top 10 signs of infidelity, Houston, the author of a popular infidelity book, has compiled a free special report to assist those seeking signs of infidelity, entitled "21 Ways to Spot a Cheating Mate."

How the Top 10 Signs of Infidelity Can Mislead

Says Houston, "People put far too much stock in the top 10 signs of infidelity. Innocent mates have been falsely accused on the basis of one or two of these top 10 signs, when in fact there was a logical explanation for why those particular signs may have appeared. On the other hand, I've consulted with both men and women whose cheating spouses initially escaped detection by covering up the obvious - or the so-called top 10 cheating signs".

Knowing What to Look For is the Key

Houston continues, "An innocent spouse might very well display one or more of the top 10 signs of infidelity; while a cheating spouse or significant other who carefully covers his or her tracks might not display any of the top 10 signs at all. However all cheaters display numerous other signs of infidelity which can easily be found. Knowing what to look for is the key. To get an accurate assessment of whether or not a spouse is cheating, the suspicious partner should focus on 21 areas of concern, rather than jumping to conclusions based on the presence or absence of a handful of telltale signs."

The 21 Areas of Concern

Instead of relying on the top 10 signs of infidelity to catch a cheating spouse, Houston advises partners who are searching for evidence of infidelity to focus on the 21 areas of interest listed below. Each of these 21 areas contains multiple telltale signs.

Physical Appearance
How Your Spouse Relates to You
Conversational Clues
Work Habits
Day-to-Day Behavior
Financial Affairs
Travel
Personality Changes
Absences
Telephone Tip-offs
Car Clues
Sex
Eating Habits
Tastes and Smells
Invasion of Your Home
Gifts
Computer Use
Cell Phones and Pagers
Physical Evidence
Behavior Around Members of the Opposite Sex
Accidental Slip-Ups and Disclosures

These 21 areas of interest correspond to the 21 major categories of infidelity signs covered in Houston's book Is He Cheating on You - 829 Telltale Signs - the only book on the market that lists practically every known sign of infidelity, including the subtle signs people usually overlook.
Despite the title, most of the signs in the book apply to cheating women, as well as cheating men.

Always Look for Multiple Signs of Infidelity

Houston points out that signs of infidelity seldom appear in isolation, saying "Cheaters always display multiple telltale signs. If a spouse or significant other is really cheating, one will typically find clusters of telltale signs from several of the 21 areas of concern all at once. It's impossible for a cheater to cover up every single telltale sign. Where there's one sign, there are usually dozens of corroborating signs just waiting to be found. Since most of the signs are subtle, knowing what to look for is the key. Searching for multiple signs of infidelity will prevent someone from falsely accusing an innocent mate, while ensuring that cheating spouses or significant others will always be exposed."
