Introducing the First Annual Financial Literacy Training Intensive Designed for Anybody Teaching Financial Anything to Anyone

In honor of Financial Literacy Month this coming April 2007, The Money Camp, in conjunction with BizWorld and Junior Achievement, all three national nonprofit organizations whose focus is financial literacy and free enterprise for youth and young adults, is putting on The First Annual Financial Literacy Training Intensive, it's first advanced training for everyone in the financial literacy arena. The event is being held in Santa Barbara, CA from April 25-28th. The goal of this program is to better equip the individuals who are already teaching financial literacy to kids and adults with advanced, powerful, effective teaching methods as well as give them powerful information and resources with which to teach.

This new event will focus on solutions to the depressing financial literacy statistics we read almost daily in our local media. It will focus on what we are doing, what we can do and how we can do it more effectively. The goal of this new event is to better prepare those who are already teaching financial literacy kids and adults how to better manage and grow their money so we can continue working toward a population that is financially savvy and self-reliant. Since 2002, The Money Camp has taught over 2000 kids and adults how to make, manage and multiply their money in a camp-like setting using accelerated teaching techniques, role-playing, games, and other activities. Their mission is to empower people to create financial freedom and they were recently featured on The Today Show (http://msnbc.msn.com/id/14225990) for their innovative approach. Their goals include having Money Camps all over the world by 2010 and they're doing this by training others to host their own Money Camp programs.

BizWorld Foundation began by creating a simulation activity in which students learn to start and run their own business. From initial funding to marketing campaigns and financial statements, the program allowed students to not only understand how business works, but enabled them to experience it first-hand. BizWorld's mission is to challenge and engage children across the cultural and economic spectrum through experiential learning programs that teach the basics of business, entrepreneurship, and money management and promote teamwork and leadership in the classroom.

Junior Achievement is a program that inspires kids to achieve in business and life through a community-based partnership with educators, volunteers and businesses. Junior Achievement is a world-wide program.
