Utah Chooses Xap and Bridges for Another Year of College, Career and Financial Aid Planning Success

Statewide contract for UtahMentor now supports students with Bridges' industry-leading Choices® Explorer and Choices Planner solutions

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) September 18, 2007 -- The Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority (UHEAA) has renewed a one-year extension to its UtahMentor agreement with Xap Corporation, which now includes statewide online access to Choices Explorer for all middle schools and Choices Planner for all high schools and adult education completion programs. Xap was originally awarded the statewide contract for UtahMentor in July 2002.

Utah students will thus be able to access the award-winning college planning resources of Mentor with the best-in-class career planning functionality of Choices within a single website, all at no cost to the student thanks to the consortium of state agencies. This consortium includes UHEAA, the Utah State Office of Education, the Utah System of Higher Education, Utah Department of Workforce Services, and the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation Services & Adult Education.

"This one-year agreement is the culmination of collaborative discussions of state agencies working on a common goal of helping students to be successful in college and in the world of work," said David Feitz, Executive Director of UHEAA. "These organizations have come together with the common objective of continuing to enhance career and college planning in Utah."

UtahMentor has been a one-stop solution for Utah students to prepare, plan, and apply for colleges statewide, with test prep, college planning, and financial aid tools. It has helped more than 130,000 students.

Bridges' uniquely-engaging Choices Explorer creates the motivational foundation for meaningful career and college planning with original student-requested content and hundreds of non-traditional careers not found in any other exploration product. Choices Planner empowers students to build personalized plans through self-directed tools and validated assessments that help them compare, connect and choose from a vast network of college and career opportunities.

"The State of Utah has always been a strong supporter of Xap and Bridges' ability to deliver engaging resources that help students realize their potential," said J. Michael Thompson, CEO of Xap Corporation. "We are very pleased to continue meeting the exploration, planning and preparation needs of students in Utah and across the nation."
