Pet Safety Made Easier with AllSafe Harness and the MM Safe Variocage Now Available in North America
Stone Ridge, NY (PRWEB) October 15, 2013 -- 4x4 North America, Inc. is now importing pet safety products engineered in Europe, including the Allsafe Harness and the MIM Safe Variocage. The company also imports other unique pet products, such as the TÜV (Technischer Überwachungs-Verein/Technical Inspection Association) tested Dog Runner.
Traveling with a crash-tested pet safety device helps prevent serious harm or injury to both human occupants and pets in the event of a crash. The AllSafe Harness and MIM Safe Variocage were both crash-tested for optimal pet safety.
The German Auto Club tested the AllSafe Harness, produced by Germany-based KleinMetall, at their ADAC Technology Centre. Performance was measured against the criteria established in the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE R-17) and crash tested with a 50lb dog dummy at speeds up to 30 mph.
The AllSafe Harness was also tested by MGA Research in the USA using the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213 for Child Restraints and crash tested with a dog dummy weighing 75lbs at speeds up to 30 mph.
During an independent test performed at the MGA Research Corporation laboratory on September 27, 2013, the AllSafe Harness was crash tested without a tether and kept a 75lb dog dummy on the seat for the duration of the test with no structural failures.
“4X4 North America chose to bring the AllSafe Harness to the United States and Canada because of its proven performance during European crash testing. During our evaluation we subjected the AllSafe harness to numerous crash safety tests at MGA Research in the USA. I witnessed firsthand the tremendous strength and structural integrity of this harness. Other than the purposely-designed deformation of the metal D-Ring, the AllSafe harness suffered no visible damage at all, even with a 75lb dog dummy. I think it’s safe to say I was not the only one impressed with the standout performance of the AllSafe harness during these crash tests,” said Richard J. Casey, president of 4X4 North America, Inc.
In 2009, the Technical Research Institute of Sweden (SP) in Borås developed a new and more rigorous method for testing dog crates in conjunction with MIM Construction AB —the Safe Pet Crate Test (SPCT). This is now a standard for assessing the safety of dogs traveling in crates, as well as the safety of human occupants during a collision.
The MIM Safe Variocage meets this new standard for crash tested dog crates and is certified for safety by SP. In the event of a rear-end collision, the MIM Safe Variocage will compress in a controlled manner, just like the crumple zones of the car. This prevents the rear seat-back from being penetrated or pushed forward by the cage, thus minimizing the risk of damage to both the passengers and the dog.
Crash test performance of the MIM Safe Variocage was measured against the criteria established in ECE R-17 and ECE R-44 with a dog dummy weighing 99lbs in a single cage and two (2) dog dummies weighing 77lbs each in a double cage at speeds exceeding 30 mph.
