Students at Manchester High School Receive New Tennis Courts Courtesy of Classic Turf Company
(PRWEB) October 17, 2013 -- As a company dedicated to constructing high-performance athletic courts and tracks, Classic Turf Company is proud to announce the completion of one of their latest projects: new tennis courts for the students of Manchester High School. The new courts will likely instill pride in the Manchester High tennis teams during home matches, and serve as a new and improved outlet for physical activity and recreation for the rest of the community.
A total of four tennis courts were added to Manchester High School’s athletic fields, equaling 24,00sq ft. overall. The 4” thick post-tensioned concrete slab was poured as one monolithic pour and designed with a residual compressive force of approximately 130 psi. This particular type of concrete is not only more economically-sound, but is generally more effective in constructing superior tennis courts. Compared to a number of other materials, post-tensioned concrete is the preferred method when it comes to rebuilding existing courts. Its ability not only to provide a sturdy, durable playing surface and withstand abuse, but to remain insusceptible to the effects of changing climates as well makes it second to none.
Contributing to the stability of the courts, Classic Turf Company’s patented Prime Coating Sports Surface was also added to the structure. Made up of several different layers that together act as a waterproofing system, this coating works to seal and protect the slab from nature’s elements over time. To complete the look and increase the safety, security and durability of the finished surface overall, a new fencing system was also added to the perimeter of the courts. Top, bottom and middle rail pipes were welded to fence posts, resulting in a seamless, uni-body design fencing system that will remain immobile and beautiful for many years.
As a means of reinforcing confidence in their work, Classic Turf Company also put a 20 year structural guarantee on the post tension slab for the Town of Manchester.
