NTSA Announces That I/ITSEC Event Will Feature Healthcare Applications and Uses In Modeling, Simulation, and Virtual Reality
Arlington, VA (PRWEB) November 15, 2013 -- National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) has announced that healthcare will take front and center at the 2013 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), scheduled for Dec. 2-5 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. This annual event, which is one of the largest exhibitions of any kind in the U.S., spotlights the exciting and ever-changing world of virtual reality, modeling and simulation.
“Modeling and simulation technologies are creating dramatic improvements in clinical training, treatment and patient outcomes,” said Dr. Don Combes, Chairman, Government Relations and Public Affairs Committee, Society for Simulation in Healthcare. “These and other equally revolutionary developments in healthcare will be on full display at this year's I/ITSEC,” he added.
Healthcare training companies, medical device manufacturers, hospitals and other healthcare organizations will be showcased in a special section in the I/ITSEC exhibition hall called the Healthcare Pavilion. There, exhibitors will display the latest in ER staff training, patient simulations, epidemiological and other clinical research. Approximately 90 healthcare exhibitors will populate the Healthcare Pavilion, or will be elsewhere on the exhibit floor.
Because the modeling and simulation training technologies at I/ITSEC remain largely focused on military and national security applications, this year's conference will feature a special session on “Entering the Commercial Healthcare Market.” This event, presented jointly by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and the I/ITSEC organizing body, the NTSA, will enable defense industry medical providers to better understand the challenges and potential rewards of diversifying into the civilian modeling and simulation healthcare market.
“If you are a medical provider or practitioner of any sort, you cannot afford to miss this year's I/ITSEC event,” said James Robb, President of the NTSA, organizers of I/ITSEC.
Registration for I/ITSEC 2013 is also at http://www.iitsec.org, and videos of healthcare and other exhibits from I/ITSEC 2012 are on You Tube at youtube.com/NTSAToday.
