Apple Self Storage Launches Food Drives at Three Halifax-Area Facilities in the Lead-Up to Christmas
(PRWEB) November 26, 2013 -- With Christmas fast approaching, Apple Self Storage is kicking off a campaign to collect food for residents and families in need. The food drive, now taking place at two Halifax storage facilities and one across the Harbour in Dartmouth, will run until December 23.
Customers who drop off a non-perishable food item at one of three Apple Self Storage facilities in Nova Scotia will receive 10% off the rental price of a new storage unit. Apple currently operates two storage facilities in Halifax—in the city’s downtown core and West end—and one in neighbouring Dartmouth. The Company hopes to raise 300lbs of food from now until the campaign ends, on December 23.
Earlier this year the Dartmouth storage facility partnered with a local furniture bank to help fulfill the basic furniture needs of struggling families. Apple Self Storage donated a storage unit to the volunteer-run Circle of Care Society, which used the extra space to collect and store donated furniture.
Currently Apple is preparing to wrap up a company-wide charity effort in support of the ABLE Network, a non-profit organization that performs valuable services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The three-month fundraiser is on pace to reach the set goal of $6,000 by the end of November.
Apple Self Storage hopes the food drive will provide relief to Halifax and Dartmouth residents in need during the lead up to the busy holiday season.
