CM First Highlights Leading-Edge Mobile and Modernization Strategies
Austin, TX (PRWEB) November 26, 2013 -- Two hundred developers traveling from all parts of the US, Europe and Central and South America came together at the 6th CA 2E/Pex Worldwide Developer Conference in Islandia, NY. The goal: To learn as much as possible about working with CA 2E and CA Plex, along with allied partner products, while benefitting from the chance to network with colleagues and technical vendor leads.
CM First, a platinum sponsor for the conference, presented a number of highly regarded sessions including a customer experience session. The latter attracted a great deal of interest and lively discussions as attendees also shared their experiences after the presentation. Rob McBride, United Heritage, presented “Mobile Application with Plex and WebClient – a User’s Perspective.” McBride explained how United Heritage was able to easily and cost-effectively mobile-enable key business applications using CA Plex, CM WebClient and Sencha Touch. Delegates posed many questions to McBride – the material obviously resonated with the audience. To learn more about WebClient, check out the product site. http://www.cmfirstgroup.com/products/cmwebclient/ Attendees also enjoyed CM MatchPoint and Agile where technical experts explained how to successfully manage agile projects with CM MatchPoint.
Other conference highlights included the free pre-conference sessions, including such topics as HTML5 Hybrid Applications with CA Plex and CM WebClient and CA 2E Advanced Topics presented by CM First. The CM WebClient Mobile Workshop attracted a large crowd despite being scheduled opposite a major session. Some who couldn’t attend wanted workshop materials and all were interested in learning how CM WebClient could help companies achieve mobile success. In the CA 2E Advanced Topics session, attendees found ways CA 2E could be extended and used in new ways. Many expressed an interest in trying out concepts such as creating web services with CA 2E. Blogs on the topics will appear on the CM First web site in the next few weeks. http://synonca2e.cmfirstgroup.com/

With a crammed schedule of educational sessions, a hackathon and the vendor exhibit hall, attendees had many opportunities to learn and engage, yet some of the most powerful conversations happened in the hallways, hotels, after sessions and at the social activities. One attendee noted that some of the best parts of sessions happened when a little time remained and delegates shared their experience and offered a ‘show and tell.’ Others noted the benefit of the ‘Idea Wall’ where stories and ‘epics’ were posted on walls and attendees could vote with green stickers for the most relevant ones. The Wall itself generated a great deal of discussion and sharing; this will help vendors know what are the most-desired enhancements required for the various products represented.
John Rhodes, CTO, noted, “CM First made an effort to create quality content and provide real education, particularly in the pre-conference workshops. These sessions netted great attendance and the feedback made it clear that CM First should continue to participate at this level in the conference.”
Many people find that companies will only support one conference or educational program per year. For CA Plex and CA 2E developers, especially those looking to modernize and mobilize, this conference provides rich educational opportunities. However, the conference is only held every 18 months. Put it on the calendar for 2015.
For those looking to modernize existing applications, reduce technical debt or mobile-enable legacy applications and need education now, check out the CM First educational offerings. http://www.cmfirstgroup.com/services/education/ CM First also offers professional services and custom code work for those with requirements that extend past in-depth education.
