Skills Group "Big demand in new sport and leisure apprenticeships at Skills Group"
Plymouth, Devon (PRWEB UK) 5 July 2013 -- A local company, Skills Group has state-of-the-art training centres throughout Devon and Cornwall and has over twenty years’ experience in delivering training and development skills.
With a broad range of apprenticeships already on offer covering job opportunities in the fields of business administration, care and early years, construction, engineering and automotive and hairdressing, Skills Group has well-established relationships with many top employers.
Phil is currently completing a Level 3 Apprenticeship, he says, “I chose Skills Group because of their flexibility around myself and the employer, and they have a very thorough interview process, which ensured I received adequate support for my qualification. I was also secure in the knowledge that they had chosen the right career path in order to fulfil my career aspirations. I was also happy to be reassured that I will be visited on a regular basis in order to maximise my potential.”
The partnership between Skills Group and the YMCA has created new apprenticeships offering a combination of on and off the job training, enabling someone to become a fully qualified all-round member of staff within a variety of venues. There are now a variety of routes available to those seeking a career in sport via Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Activity Leadership, Exercise and Fitness, Leisure Management and Leisure Operations.
Our sport and leisure pre-apprenticeship programme gives an apprentice a significant career boost. On completion of this programme an apprentice will receive a Level 2 qualification in sport and leisure, Maths and English qualifications, First Aid and Health and Safety Training. Alongside this you will also achieve employment rights and responsibilities, interview skills, work experience and a guaranteed employment opportunity.
Employers already joining Skills Group in this expansion in leisure apprenticeships include Boringdon Park Golf Club, China Fleet, Elfordleigh Hotel Golf and Country Club, Lostwithiel Hotel and Country Club, RS Pools and The New Continental Hotel.
Mike Davey, Managing Director of Boringdon Park Golf Club explains:
"We chose Skills Group as our official partner predominantly because of their Outstanding grade from Ofsted, which is rare in a private training provider.
"We also selected them because they tailor their programmes around the employer and an apprentice can start with us any time."
Managing Director Mark Boulting commented:
"Apprenticeships are a great way to start a career, giving young people a way to earn and learn through a combination of theory and practice that a purely academic route just can’t provide. As a knowledgeable local company, we pride ourselves on having the flexibility and capability to respond quickly to the needs of local employers and the aspirations of young people, hence this expansion into the field of sport and leisure apprenticeships."
