Royal Gorge Rafting & Zip Line Tours, in Colorado, Spared from the Royal Gorge Wildfire
Canon City, Colorado (PRWEB) July 17, 2013 -- Royal Gorge Rafting & Zip Line Tours was in what seemed to be, the imminent path of the Royal Gorge Fire but, with a shift in the wind and help from above via a Slurry Bomber, both their zip line courses and vacation rental facilities were spared from the flames.
Owners Ty Seufer & James Whiteside had assumed with the fire overtaking the nearby Royal Gorge Bridge and Park that they were next in line for the raging fire headed their way. "We were prepared for the worst and had accepted that rebuilding our new future was the only option available once the smoke had cleared".
Meanwhile, in the heat of the moment the Royal Gorge Rafting & Zip Line crew was extremely busy evacuating their base camp on Hwy 50, assisting 100's of clients in rearranging their vacations via cell phone, and evacuating their guests from their Vacation Rentals to new accommodations.
After a few days of highway closures, the local and wild land fire fighters had successfully battled and extinguished the flames of the Royal Gorge Fire.
Immediately after the reopening of Hwy 50, Royal Gorge Rafting & Zip Line Tours was back in action. However because of the national media coverage of the wildfire, there is a widespread misconception that all local attractions and activities have been shut down or destroyed; reality says otherwise. The significant damage reported occurred at the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park, which does not include the Royal Gorge Rafting & Zip Line Tour’s operations. The Royal Gorge region is comprised of many great activities and attractions and the Bridge & Park is just one aspect of what drives up to a million people to the Royal Gorge region in a summer's time.
“Royal Gorge Rafting & Zip Line Tours has been busy creating new packages to help draw people back to our area. In doing so, we have teamed up with the Royal Gorge Route Railroad to offer one of a kind, seamless combinations with both our world class rafting tours through the Royal Gorge or the option to experience our top rated Extreme Zip Line tours.” “Both of these activities begin right where the historic tour of the Royal Gorge Route Railroad ends its route through the Royal Gorge. We have rolled out both of these combinations in July and we expect a lot of interest as the word gets out that we are back in business,” said Ty Seufer of Royal Gorge Rafting & Zip Line Tours.
