Aria Stone Gallery Holds Grand Opening Event in Dallas
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 18, 2013 -- The grand opening was held in the gallery from 5pm-9pm, and was attended by over 300 people. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres kept attendees refreshed as they browsed the gallery, seeing many rare and unique natural stone slabs on display. The gallery is unusual since the individual slabs are hung on the walls like paintings in a museum, rather than being stacked on A-frames.
Owner Vinny Tavares came up with the concept for Aria Stone Gallery following a visit to the National Museum in Stockholm, Sweden. The opportunity to explore the museum’s installation of Slow Art and to understand its philosophy and fundamentals led to the idea of displaying natural stone as pieces of art, created slowly by nature over centuries.
Speaking about the concept for the gallery, Tavares said: “we wanted to create a museum-like atmosphere that would force people to concentrate on a single piece rather than zoom by, fighting the desire to graze and instead diving deep, discovering the intricacies of a particular slab and hopefully resulting in an emotional connection to one of our stones."
Showroom Manager Amanda Reilly, ASID, RID, has an interior design background combined with eight years of experience working in the Dallas Design District as a residential kitchen and bath designer. She has an extensive knowledge of the design and construction process and numerous relationships with the A & D community as well as vendors, fabricators, contractors, and builders. Product Manager Zuzana Long was raised in Italy, spending some time at quarries there. Her previous experience includes working for stone fabricators, plus working with designers and architects in the Dallas region.
The gallery plans to hold events and CEUs going forward. For more information about the gallery, please visit http://ariastonegallery.com
