Bioterrorism/Disaster Education and Awareness Month
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) July 18, 2013 -- The purpose of this month is to raise awareness for preparedness and educate the public in case a disaster was to hit.
A bioterrorism attack is the release of viruses, bacteria, of other agents used against an enemy to cause illness or death in people and plants. A disaster can range from a natural or man-made hazard that can cause significant physical damage or destruction. Both can be extremely dangerous.
American Red Cross has three simple steps to be prepared for any disaster that could potentially hit your area. Have an emergency preparedness kit in your home. Make a family disaster plan and have the family practice it. Be informed of the emergencies or disasters that are most likely to occur in your community.
These three steps are very basic and should be customized to fit specific situation. Get a kit. Make a plan. Be informed. Don’t let a disaster catch you off guard.
