Become One of the Faces Of Unity on Nelson Mandela Day
Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) July 18, 2013 -- Faces of Unity is also the name of a documentary (formerly known as The Art Of Reconciliation) that will feature never before seen footage of an important speech from Nelson Mandela about reconciliation. People that like the Facebook page of the project will be added to a mosaic of Nelson Mandela on Facebook and, in doing so, become one of the Faces Of Unity.
July 18 has been designated Nelson Mandela Day by the United Nations. The Mandela Day campaign message is simple: “Mr Mandela gave 67 years of his life fighting for the rights of humanity. All we are asking is that everyone gives 67 minutes of their time, whether it’s supporting your chosen charity or serving your local community.”
However, Adam Radly also selected July 18 as a launch date for Faces Of Unity as a result of a connection to Nelson Mandela. Adam Radly was the founder of the World Reconciliation Day event where Nelson Mandela provided his penultimate speech about reconciliation and Adam Radly’s company donated $1 million to the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund. Adam Radly is also the Director of the documentary, Faces Of Unity. The documentary is in post production.
In addition to the documentary, the Faces Of Unity project promotes unity by outlining the principals of reconciliation based on Nelson Mandela's approach to unifying South Africa and will also bring attention to situations where unity is threatened by discrimination, exclusion and inequality. The project will also focus on unity and division caused by leaders in our communities (including politicians).
Mr. Radly said, "Disagreement is acceptable. - inequality isn't. That is the simple summary of what this project is about. Even though it has been more than decade since spending time with Nelson Mandela, his influence on my views about unity and equality has not waned at all. He wants us to pick up where he left off in order to get the world we want. I created this project to make it easy for people to do that."
Mr. Radly also said, "We have created a mosaic image of a triumphant Nelson Mandela walking onto the stage at the World Reconciliation Day event after I was lucky enough to be able to introduce him. Everyone that likes us on Facebook will be added to the mosaic and become one of the Faces Of Unity. It's not asking much. If you really believe in unity and want to stand up to divisive people then just click a button. The more people that join us the more influence we will have as group."
