Americas Got Talent Meets American Pickers as The Fine Arts Company Goes on the Road
Hagerstown, MD (PRWEB) July 23, 2013 -- Members of The Fine Arts Company will be traveling across various parts of the United States on an art-driven adventure to find artists currently unknown outside their local area. The Fine Arts Company is an online juried marketplace, operating as an exclusively American-made art, jewelry and gift store (with a brick and mortar retail store line in the near future).
Without a plan or a schedule, armed only with adventure and art in mind, The Fine Arts Company is setting out seeking new artists to meet and interview for its Video Art Blog series. Traveling for a week at a time, company members will visit cities across the country seeking the best independent handmade in America fine art and jewelry.
"Where are all the real American Artists?," says founding company partner David Nathans. "Are they showing in galleries or local museums? Are they in artist-driven cooperatives, or completely underground?," he furthers. The Fine Arts Company is setting out to find innovative new American artists wherever they may be showing, from museums to art and craft festivals.
While The Fine Arts Company has a call for new artists on the website, we don’t feel that is enough. While this passive method of meeting artists has its merit, members of The Fine Arts Company are determined to get out into the public and find the hidden gems of art in America today. We are sure that this more aggressive means of finding new talent will allow us the opportunity to meet little-known artists and designers whose work will blow you away.
This mission is not about finding art, but about finding the artist as well. Only an artist can truly communicate the meaning behind the works created, the creative process and the inspiration behind each piece. In our travels, we will fill The Fine Arts Company video art blog with interviews and stories that relate to specific pieces and artists. An artist can represent his or her work better than anyone else because it was created out of a passion to express oneself, and the work can't always speak for itself; it takes an artist to convey the love and excitement of the piece and technique to the viewer.
It is this love and excitement that The Fine Arts Company captures in its video blogs, and what we want to bring to our viewers. While you may not have the opportunity to travel the United States meeting artists and experiencing their dynamic work firsthand, we hope to bring the experience to you at home. Visit thefineartscompany.com to browse our current selection of handmade in America artwork, and keep an eye on our blog for the opportunity to discover and “meet” talented up and coming artists and their work.
