Desert Wind Launches Kickstarter Campaign for Brother’s Keeper Film
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- Desert Wind Studios, the production company behind Brother’s Keeper, has launched a special Kickstarter campaign ( http://bit.ly/BrosKeeperFilm ) to allow fans to donate to the film’s budget and earn special, limited rewards from the producers.
Before the film runs the “final lap” in preparation for release, the producers have crafted the Kickstarter campaign so fans can donate and walk away with unique incentives such as a digital preview copy of the movie before the release, an invitation to walk the red carpet at the movie’s premier, and a chance to appear in Desert Wind’s next movie.
Brother’s Keeper is a jarring story about murder, scandal, and ultimately forgiveness, comes to select theaters nationwide on November 1.
Starring veteran actors Ray Wise, Robyn Lively, Michael Rooker, W. Earl Brown and country music singer Travis Tritt, Brother’s Keeper is set in the 1950s and is a story about twin brothers who become embroiled in scandal after a terrible twist of events. One of the brothers ends up framed for murder and put in jail. While locked up, he begins to wrestle with and question God about this cruel twist of fate. All the while, his brother, the black sheep of the family, relentlessly struggles to find a way to help his brother. Eventually, he comes to peace with God, learns to forgive, and abandons his hope for revenge.
Brother’s Keeper is scheduled for a limited release to roughly 150 screens this fall. The producers have partnered up with Seatzy.com, a new movie ticket reservation service, to facilitate both individual and group advance sales and generate a word-of-mouth buzz at a grassroots level. Producer/Co-Director TJ Amato said, “Seatzy will broaden our market reach and ensure Brother’s Keeper plays in a theater near you. It's a very user friendly site and a huge tool for independent filmmakers like us.”
The money raised from the Kickstarter campaign will be used for several things, but especially to fund the Seatzy marketing and distribution plan.
“Seatzy.com will help us strengthen our already planned theatrical release with individual and church support of our mission. Seatzy will also enable us to bring our film to more cities than using the traditional Hollywood approach to distribution,” continues Amato.
“We’ve been blessed enough to get the film this far, and are now asking for individuals to get involved in spreading the word.” says Camp.
