ShopRite Announces “Designed to Fight Hunger” Reusable Bag Design Contest
Keasbey, NJ (PRWEB) August 28, 2013 -- ShopRite Partners In Caring, in collaboration with General Mills, has announced that the second annual “Designed to Fight Hunger” contest is underway! To support its year-round, hunger-fighting initiative, ShopRite has challenged up-and-coming artists to create original designs that could be featured on a reusable shopping bag to raise awareness of the issue of hunger.
In addition to having the unique design available on reusable bags in all 250 ShopRite locations, the grand prize winner will receive $2,500, as well as a matching $2,500 donation to his or her local food bank.
“Raising awareness of the issue of hunger is at the heart of the mission of ShopRite Partners In Caring,” said Christine Magyarits, spokesperson for community-based, hunger fighting initiative. “Our customers have always been dedicated to helping us in this mission and this contest is great way to enlist their generous spirit in the fight against hunger.”
The judge’s panel will include last year’s contest winner, Williamstown, NJ resident Katrice Sylvester. Katrice’s design (see photo) is currently available on reusable bags throughout ShopRite stores in six states. Passionate about helping those in need in her community, as the grand prize winner, Katrice also received a generous donation to her local food bank, the Food Bank of South Jersey.
“I have seen the effects of hunger firsthand and it is an issue that is very close to my heart,” said Ms. Sylvester. “I am so honored to be a part of this fight against hunger and it is my hope that this design speaks to the issue while motivating others to get out there and make a difference in the community.”
Customers can enter their unique design at BagDesignContest.com. Entries must be submitted by December 31, 2013.
