IdentityMind Augments Coverage of Identity Verification and Introduces Anti-Fraud Support for Affiliate and Mobile Traffic
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) September 06, 2013 -- IdentityMind™ today announced release 1.12 of their Anti-Fraud and Risk Management Platform. Release 1.12 improves the evaluation of identities as part of the account origination for consumers and merchants. It introduces the evaluation of fraud associated with affiliates and enhances the API to support fraud detection based on mobile subscriber location.
“This is yet one of our most exciting releases to date. We are providing the initial steps for merchants to address two key areas in fraud and risk: Affiliate Fraud and Mobile Fraud”, said Jose Caldera, IdentityMind’s VP of Marketing and Products. “In addition we are leveraging our core technology and our partners to validate and verify consumer account origination process, providing market leading tools seamlessly integrated into our Platform. While this is just the beginning in some of these areas, we are confident that we’ll be able to address some key problems our partners and the overall high risk merchants are facing”.
The new version of the platform includes the following major features and improvements:
1. Enhances platform capabilities for evaluating identities against public data. We continue to improve the workflow and evaluation feature set for verifying identities during account origination both for consumers and for merchants with the addition of two new partners (ID Analytics® and Neustar® TargusInfo) and the expansion of current Idology® integration with ExpectID PA (Patriot Act).
2. Provides initial support for Affiliate Fraud. Merchants can now track and write rules for specific affiliates, and keep stricter rules for those that are new, and more lenient to those that have had a proven positive history with them. This is an area in which we are committed to resolve with our partners and the market in general.
3. Expands our APIs to analyze consumer’s location where the IP Geo location is unreliable or not available. This is rather important to address mobile fraud, as today the IP address associated with mobile users when connected to a carrier does not indicate the actual location of the subscriber. Its applicability is somewhat limited at the moment as it requires subscriber permission for merchant to retrieve their location, but it is an alternative for those merchants that provide smart apps. The location of the mobile user is without doubt a key component to the mobile anti-fraud strategy.
About IdentityMind™
IdentityMind™ is an on-demand platform providing next generation risk management and anti-fraud services for the e-commerce ecosystem: Acquiring Banks, Payment Processors and Gateways, Payment Service Providers (PSP/ISO/MSP,IPSP), and Online Merchants. These services are offered in real-time based on our patent-pending Electronic DNA (eDNA™) technology which tracks the different entities (consumers, merchants, cardholders, payment wallets, alternative payment methods, etc) of the e-commerce ecosystem. It builds reputation associated to these entities that can be used when evaluating anti fraud, merchant account applications, consumer account origination, identity verification services, money laundering, and others. This reputation is shared during the analysis so everyone can benefit from the “network effect” while keeping the privacy of the entities involved.
