Outlook Television to Produce PetsPage Educational Documentary on Veterinary Medicine Specialists for Public Television
Boise, Idaho (PRWEB) September 06, 2013 -- Karen Bostick, creator and CEO of PetsPage.com announced today that Outlook Television, which produces educational programing for Public Television, will produce a PetsPage educational documentary to help bring awareness of veterinary medicine specialists. The program will begin airing on Public Television stations in all 50 states in early 2014 and continue for one year with an estimated viewership of 60 million households.
The PetsPage Outlook Television documentary will focus on Tinks’ Story and PetsPage creator and CEO’s mission of increasing pet owner awareness of veterinary specialty medicine, which can quite literally save pets’ lives through advanced veterinary care. The program will also include segments with veterinary specialists Dr. Victoria Ochoa, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Veterinary Internist) and Dr. Carrie Breaux, DVM, MVSC, DACVO (Veterinary Ophthalmology) of WestVet in Boise, Idaho and Dr. Sue Ettinger, “Dr. Sue Cancer Vet,” DVM, DACVIM (Veterinary Oncology) practicing out of Animal Specialty Center in Yonkers, New York.
Bostick’s mission is the result of a very personal experience. Four years ago, her beloved Maltipoo, Tinks almost lost his life due to a rare auto immune disease. In spite of the quick diagnosis from Tinks’ general practice veterinarian, Tinks was not getting any better and was fading fast. Karen begged her vet for more treatment options and ultimately found out with only moments left to spare in Tinks’ life that advanced veterinary care was even an option. Thankfully, she found a veterinary internal medicine specialist (DACVIM) who was able to use advanced treatment methods to save the life of her beloved pet.
The daughter of a veterinarian herself, Bostick was unaware that veterinary specialists existed, let alone the additional expertise and advanced treatment options they provided. Wanting to share that message with pet owners everywhere, Bostick created PetsPage.com. Since its official launch on July 15, 2013, PetsPage.com has amassed well over 1,000 members.
"We are excited to be working with the team at Petspage.com to educate our public television audience on pet health and the community of veterinary specialists who address even the most complex health concerns,” said Outlook Television Producer Alex Carter.
“I am excited to share PetsPage.com’s mission of creating awareness about the advanced treatment options that are now available to our family pets with public television viewers across the country. The outstanding educational programing produced by Outlook Television is the perfect forum for us to share our message with a national audience,” said PetsPage creator and CEO, Karen Bostick.
