Eric Brand Selected to Design a Room for the 2013 Showcase House at the Greystone Mansion; Brand’s “Children’s Playhouse Bedroom” Is Inspired by Titan and Muppet Creator
Burlingame, CA (PRWEB) September 10, 2013 -- Eric Brand, a prominent high-end, contemporary furniture manufacturer, was chosen to reinvent a room in the Beverly Hills’ Greystone Mansion for the Titans of Business and the Best of Design-themed Showcase House event hosted by Design House International (DHI). Eric Brand was selected among leading architects and designers from the nation’s power hubs to show off their talents while supporting historic preservation at this distinctive event to take place in November. DHI Showcase House events are designed to elevate creativity as seen through the eyes of the architects and interior designers and provide consumers the opportunity to connect with the best in the design world while raising funds for historic preservation of The Greystone Mansion’s treasured property. Eric Brand's children’s playhouse bedroom, in collaboration with Airen Holbrook – who assumes project manager role and also is the lead on all interior design projects for the company – is inspired by the iconic titan Jim Henson, creator of The Muppets, to bring a playful and humorous tone to the Showcase House.
“We are thrilled to design a room into a magnificent and inspirational work of art to transform the historic Greystone Mansion into a unique expression of creativity and power, and to participate in such an awe-inspiring Showcase House event hosted by DHI,” explained Owner Eric Brand. “As our iconic titan, we selected Jim Henson, Creator of the Muppets, to create a whimsical interior with a child-like setting to generate interest in our room and stand out in the Showcase House.”
Paying homage to Jim Henson’s clever and humorous spirit, Eric Brand’s bright and sunny room sparks the emotion of child-like playfulness and delight. The lively room features a window bench creating a nifty spot for kids to sit and read. The table in the center helps kindle the inquisitive nature in kids by beckoning them to do homework, arts and crafts. The wall showcases Faux Bois or faux duplication, murals that create a sense of beautiful paneling depicting how a child would create it. Additionally, simple elements include artwork featuring blocks and masses, giraffe-inspired pattern on the carpet, a puzzle mirror on the wall and other unique pieces from Eric Brand’s private collection of Jim Henson images.
More than 35 leading interior designers will transform the mansions into unique expressions of creativity and power — with rooms inspired by their own accomplished clients or iconic "titans” of business, entertainment, technology and fashion. The interior designers will reveal the taste/décor preferences of those who have truly impacted our daily lives. Thousands of affluent consumers and interior designers will visit the homes and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience exquisite home design of America’s key business leaders.
Greystone Mansion, also known as the Doheny Estate, is a Tudor-style residence with 55 livable rooms situated on pristinely landscaped grounds in Beverly Hills, CA.
