NES Wins First Task Order Awarded Under DISA GSM-ETI Contract
ALEXANDRIA, VA (PRWEB) September 24, 2013 -- On Sept. 13, 2013, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) announced that NES Associates, LLC (http://www.NESassociates.com) won the first network support task order awarded under the Global Information Grid (GIG) Services Management Engineering Transition and Implementation (GSM-ETI) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract.
Through the IP Traffic Navigator (ITN) and Traffic Data Analysis Support task order, NES will maintain and enhance existing ITN capabilities for the Defense Information System Network (DISN) Capacity Planning and Analysis Branch (EE41). NES will provide support for the collection, processing, reporting, archiving and analyzing of the DISN NetFlow/cFlowD traffic data, while maintaining the functionality of ITN capabilities and upgrading to include Voice and Video over IP (VVoIP), IPv6, and MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS).
EE41 supports network capacity planning, reconfigurations, operations and information assurance that depend on an accurate analysis of network traffic data. To complete these tasks, EE41 has developed the IP Traffic Navigator tool—a program used to summarize network traffic data into an easily searchable form.
“NES is honored to be chosen for the first task order awarded under the GSM-ETI contract,” says Tom Wells, NES Director of DISA Programs. “ITN provides critical network support to DISA’s ongoing analysis and management of the DISN.”
The period of performance for the ITN task order is a 12-month base period with four one-year option periods. NES’ proposal was evaluated on its ability to manage, execute, assess, analyze, upgrade, and enhance the data collection, processing, and presentation capabilities for extremely large data sets of Department of Defense (DoD) NIPRNET, SIPRNET, DISN Core, and IAPNET network performance data within severe time and reliability constraints; as well as analyze and plan for emerging DISN technologies.
