Welcome to the New Paradigm of California Cannabis
Santa Rosa, CA (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- OrganiCann of Santa Rosa, California, a member of the Natural Cannabis Company and leader of the burgeoning cannabis industry, has announced the debut of the use of appellations when classifying and identifying cannabis.
An appellation is a geographical locator used to identify the approximate cultivation location i.e. the growing region of the cannabis plants. Appellations are commonly used to identify a watershed, a region or a village, as well as identifying the locations of vineyards.
“Due to an overwhelming interest in the origins of the cannabis we obtain, with a desire to specifically identify the methods of cultivation, organics and processing; we find it necessary to inform our clients and all Californians the exact nature of the cannabis they have obtained,” said Dona Frank, founder of OrganiCann and Natural Cannabis Company.
By naming the exact appellation from which the cannabis is derived, cannabis connoisseurs can select their strains according to a previous experience, or a desire to try something new.
“The Emerald Triangle is already known worldwide as the birthplace of California’s premiere cannabis and using just a single appellation to qualify all of that cannabis is no longer adequate,” says Larry Emry, Farmer Relations Manager at OrganiCann. “It’s time that cannabis cultivation be broken down into areas which truly represent the growing appellation.”
The vast climate differences in California regions must be taken into consideration, such as the ocean influence at the Mendocino Coast or high mountain altitudes of the Trinity Alps. This difference in growing region alone will produce two very different cannabis flower buds. By identifying these appellations, cannabis users can discern which cannabis they prefer, which cultivator they trust and which growing region produces their favorite flavor.
As legalization of cannabis draws near, the prominence of California cannabis and the succinct naming of its appellations will provide the global cannabis network with an exclusive choice for excellence, taste and safety in the cannabis products provided.
“The origins of your cannabis product will no longer be a mystery or something that is merely a guess” said Emry. “What a refreshing pleasure it is to gather as much knowledge about the cannabis plants our farmers are cultivating and then share our discovery with our clients”.
