ItaliaRail Announces Winners of the ItaliaRail Study Abroad in Italy Scholarship
Somerville, MA (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- ItaliaRail, the experts on train travel to, from and around Italy, have announced the two winners of the first ever ItaliaRail Study Abroad in Italy Scholarship. Victoria Immel, from Chapman University in Southern California, and Mary Hartwick, of Siena College in Loudonville, New York, have been named recipients of the award for the Spring 2014 semester. Each student will receive $1,000 to be used on books, tuition and other expenses related to their studies in Italy.
ItaliaRail established the scholarship to enable hard-working and accomplished students, who may have some financial constraints, the opportunity to fund their study abroad experience in Italy.
Victoria Immel will spend the semester studying at the Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici in Florence, while Mary Hartwick will be attending the Siena Italian Studies program and living with a local family in Siena. “I am ecstatic and feel extremely grateful to have received this award,” said Immel upon hearing she had been named as one of the recipients.
