Houston, Texas (PRWEB) February 08, 2014 -- Bel Furniture was proud to partner with KHOU for their annual Secret Santa Toy Drive this holiday season. Starting on Thanksgiving Day and continuing through Dec. 22, Bel Furniture locations in Houston and Beaumont collected new, unwrapped toys from generous customers to benefit those served by the Salvation Army. The season of giving included a few special donation events at The Woodlands Mall, Sugar Land Town Square and even the KHOU 11 studio itself. A handful of Bel employees – fondly referred to as the “Bel Elves” – braved the cold and rainy weather at these outdoor events to help promote the toy drive and bring in even more donations.
The KHOU Secret Santa Toy Drive has been a local tradition since its first occurrence in 2001 and has since grown to be one of the largest toy collection efforts in the area. This year’s drive was by far the most successful to date, as it is estimated they far exceeded last year’s collection of 25,000 toys. Donations were distributed through the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program to thousands of needy families throughout the Houston and Beaumont areas, ensuring more families had presents under the tree on Christmas morning.
In addition to drop-off spots at Bel Furniture locations, patrons were also welcomed to bring donations to various IHOP, Randalls and Reliant Energy locations.
The Bel Family sends its heartfelt thanks to all who participated by donating toys and especially to David Paul and Melissa Sueffert for making the drive such a huge success. They are thankful for their dedicated employees who braved the elements to help the toy drive effort even further. Bel is also very proud to have had the opportunity to partner with The Salvation Army, which has served the disadvantaged youth and elderly of the Houston area for over 120 years. Bel Furniture looks forward to helping bring even more success to the toy drive effort during the 2014 holiday season.
About Bel Furniture
Bel Furniture, the fastest growing furniture retailer in Texas, first opened its doors in February 2002 in Houston, Texas. Located on the corner of I-45 North and Richey Road, this first retail center has now been serving customers for over 10 years. Bel Furniture has spent the last decade providing customers with quality, affordable furniture and expanding their reach throughout South Texas.
Bel Furniture was originally founded to fill a hole in the home furnishings market; with so many stores offering a small selection of low quality furniture at high prices, the founders were determined to offer people something more . With the wheels set in motion, the first Bel Furniture location finally opened with a simple philosophy in mind; never forget that the customer has a choice in where they do business. At Bel Furniture, the goal is to keep customers at the forefront by delivering a great product, competitive pricing, and exceptional service.
Bel Furniture keeps these values at the forefront by staying family owned and operated, staffed by 350 loyal employees and stocked by Bel Furniture owned factories. By building several factories around the world, Bel Furniture has been able to cut out the middle man, ensuring both high quality and affordable prices are available to customers, including two exclusive lines, the Mollai Collection and the Sara Collection, designed by the owners themselves. The combination of quality, comfort, style, and price is just one factor that sets Bel Furniture apart from the competition and fuels a customer base that grows by 5,000 each month.
Boasting 11 showrooms throughout South Texas, including a state-of-the-art mega showroom in San Antonio, Bel Furniture is poised to expand even further, with a goal of 25 showrooms in Texas over the next five years, as well as additional showrooms in adjacent states.
Bel Furniture also strives to be truly embedded in the surrounding communities. In addition to providing excellent care to customers, Bel Furniture also aspires to improve the lives of those in need. By giving back to the public, the Bel Furniture family extends the founding principles of people-centered service beyond the store.
