Non-profit Launches Innovative Website and Social Media Campaign to Celebrate the Action of Coming Out in Effort to Promote Equality
Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 18, 2014 -- #ComingOutMatters is a campaign devoted to empowering the LGBT community and increasing public support for equality under law. Through social media sites such as YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter, individuals are encouraged to share their personal "coming out" narratives and reflections on equality using the hashtag #ComingOutMatters. These stories are then automatically streamed through the #ComingOutMatters website for other users to experience.
#ComingOutMatters is designed to be a social community that supports and encourages the act of coming out. This site compiles stories from LGBT community members who have had their own coming out experiences, as well as stories from those who support the fight for equality. #ComingOutMatters is a campaign focused on fostering a community of acceptance and positivity that empowers LGBT individuals to be true to themselves and to take action in their own life.
#ComingOutMatters launched on February 18th, 2014. #ComingOutMatters has also partnered with other equality organizations across the country such as MassEquality in Massachusetts and Fairness Campaign in Kentucky, all of which will promote the #ComingOutMatters campaign through their own social media sites.
