Marcus Luttrell’s Patriot Tour Announces National Anthem Video Contest
Austin, TX (PRWEB) February 24, 2014 -- Retired U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell is recruiting singers to perform the National Anthem at each of the eleven stops on Luttrell’s 2014 Patriot Tour.
Contestants are encouraged to submit a video using the entry form on the Patriot Tour Facebook Page using the hashtag #PATRIOTTOUR. The Patriot Tour 2014 schedule includes stops in eleven cities across Arizona, California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina and South Carolina. Marcus and his Patriot Tour team will select winners in each of the eleven cities on the tour.
Winners will receive free VIP tickets to the show (three total), an exclusive Patriot Tour Merchandise Prize Package, a personal “meet and greet” with Marcus Luttrell himself, and he or she will open the Patriot Tour by singing our National Anthem live on stage in front of the entire crowd.
The Patriot Tour National Anthem contest is open to anyone who wishes to showcase their pride in our country and its heroes, including children. After all, Patriot Tour is a family event, and our shared values of service and honoring those who protect our freedom is important for everyone to hear, especially our kids.
Decorated retired U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, the man behind the story of heroism told in Lone Survivor, the New York Times bestselling book and riveting new movie starring Mark Wahlberg, shares his amazing story of determination, valor and survival, live on stage in his Patriot Tour 2014.
In memory of his fallen brothers, Luttrell provides an evening filled with stories only he can tell, along with special guests Retired Navy SEALS Billy Wagasy, Pete Scobell, who led the SEAL team in the Captain Phillips mission, David Goggins, Retired Ranger Chad Fleming, and Taya Kyle, wife of “American Sniper” Chris Kyle, whose story is being profiled in an upcoming film directed by Clint Eastwood, and starring Bradley Cooper. These are uniquely inspiring Americans with uplifting stories, and we can think of no better way to start each show than by having a local Patriot sing the song that unites us as a nation.
Detailed contest rules and instructions are available at PatriotTour.com.
Select Stops on the Patriot Tour Include Appearances by These Very Special Guests:
Capt. Chad Fleming, U.S. Army, Retired
During his six deployments overseas with the U.S. Army’s elite 3rd Ranger battalion, Capt. Fleming was wounded in combat on three separate occasions. He has undergone more than two dozen surgeries, one of which resulted in the amputation of his left leg. While most would assume this type of injury would conclude military service, Capt. Fleming was deployed not once but twice since his injuries, both times choosing to go back to the same unstable area of Iraq that cost him his leg. After serving with distinction and receiving numerous awards and decorations—including the Bronze Star—Capt. Fleming retired from active duty but he still remains a vital part of the 75th Ranger Regiment. In addition to completing marathons, triathlons and cycling events, he is also a sought after motivational speaker for organizations like the United States Olympic Hockey Team, the Ohio State Buckeyes football team and several Fortune 500 companies.
Taya Kyle
Taya is the widow of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle. As the chief of SEAL Team 3, Chris served numerous combat tours, including four in Operation Iraqi Freedom. For his bravery in battle, Chris was honored with many awards and citations, including two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. Following his combat deployments, Chris became chief instructor for training Naval Special Warfare Sniper and Counter-Sniper teams, and he authored the Naval Special Warfare Sniper Doctrine, the first Navy SEAL sniper manual. Tragically, Chris was recently killed in Texas, but Taya keeps the spirit of her husband and his service alive, spreading the word about his New York Times No. 1 bestselling autobiography, American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military, and his latest book, the posthumously published, American Gun.
