Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc. (NTC) Encourages Community Outreach as Backbone of Company Culture – Sees Higher Productivity and Community Goodwill
Palm Harbor, FL (PRWEB) March 05, 2014 -- A recent study found that 59 percent of Americans are more likely to buy a product from a company that engages in community outreach (1). Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc. (NTC), a leading research and document processing provider for the mortgage and financial industry, has been participating in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) outreach efforts in the community for almost a decade. Recently, NTC officials have noticed how its community leadership has generated a positive response from employees. Through its “business with a purpose” mission, NTC has encouraged initiatives that emit a positive impact on the environment and surrounding community.
CSR is a process which encourages a positive impact through a company’s activities on the environment, community and surrounding public. Studies show that employees of companies that engage in community outreach efforts demonstrate more pride and commitment to their employers (2). NTC has witnessed first-hand the effects of CSR within a company’s culture:
•The number of employee volunteers has increased 233 percent since 2011;
•The number of volunteer hours increased and employees are donating their personal time to reach company goals;
•Staff members volunteer as a group or in pairs and sometimes bring their family members.
•Increased productivity has been seen in the number of special acknowledgments given to employees each year.
In addition, NTC also reports that when hiring for new positions at the company, applicants already know about their community outreach efforts. NTC has also noticed that, internally, staff is willing to train each other, and help with fundraising initiatives. Employees ranging from lower paid positions, to higher paid positions in the company are participating in the community outreach efforts. NTC has assisted its local community organizations such as the Homeless Emergency Project (HEP), and Feast Food Pantry (FEAST) by helping organize and participating in food drives and fundraisers.
Both Twila Cole of the Humane Society Pinellas, and Amanda Brock of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, who also work with NTC on their CSR front, said the main focus and drive to working with corporations is to build a mutually beneficial relationship. Officials from both organizations say that NTC’s volunteering efforts are influential in their day-to-day success.
NTC also supports Toys for Tots®, the Greater Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce and the Annual Harbor Art Festival – all for making their community a better place to live and work. NTC has raised over $43,000 for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Palm Harbor in its pasts four years of participation.
“Community outreach is so important to the fundamental workings of our company. We’re constantly encouraging our employees to donate and participate in our community outreach efforts,” says John Hillman, CEO of NTC. “Together, our efforts have created a fantastic working environment, and we have not only seen an increase in volunteer participation, but an increase in business recognition as well.”
