Sunrise Yoga on Lake Wylie to Improve Health and Send Kids to Camp
Lake Wylie, SC (PRWEB) June 24, 2014 -- Sunrise over Lake Wylie will offer more grandeur and purpose for early morning yoga enthusiasts gathered to improve their health while supporting a good cause this summer. YMCA Camp Thunderbird and Om Yoga are partnering to present a series of sunrise yoga classes, lakeside at the camp’s Duke Energy Pavilion on June 28, July 12, July 26 and August 9. The series is designed for enjoyment and as a fundraiser to support YMCA Camp Thunderbird’s annual Send a Kid to Camp campaign.
“The yoga series will be a fun, alfresco wellness experience,” said Jill Moore, YMCA Camp Thunderbird executive director. “Participants will be able to truly center themselves surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.”
All levels of yoga experience are welcome. Yoga mats will be available and refreshments will be served before and after each class. Instead of a class fee, participants are asked to make a donation to the Send a Kid to Camp campaign. One hundred percent of the proceeds will fund scholarships for children to attend YMCA Camp Thunderbird’s overnight and day camp. Since 1936, over 35,000 scholarships have been awarded to provide a camp experience for children who could not otherwise afford one.
“We are very excited to partner with YMCA Camp Thunderbird to provide this unique yoga experience,” says Maria Lages, owner of Om Yoga in Fort Mill, S.C. “Not only will participants feel great physically, they’ll also leave knowing they made a difference in a child’s life by helping them go to camp.”
The classes will be held from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. on the Saturday mornings of June 28, July 12, July 26 and August 9. Participants are asked to arrive by 6:45 a.m. to register and parking is available next to the pavilion.
