Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) June 26, 2014 -- Firecom, the leading provider of communication equipment for the fire and rescue industry, today announced receipt of a patent for its headset hanger hook designed to retain equipment during emergency maneuvers.
The company developed the hanger hook in response to revisions to National Fire Protection Association Standard 1901 that mandates securing equipment in the cab and crew areas of emergency response vehicles in the event of an accident.
“We designed our NFPA-compliant hanger hook to retain a headset during the severe g-forces of an emergency maneuver while maintaining the ease and speed of use firefighters expect from their turnout gear,” said Simon Broadley, vice president of engineering. “No latches; no mechanisms to break. One-handed hang and go. While small in size, the NFPA-compliant hanger hook demonstrates Firecom’s commitment to the complete communication solution for the emergency responder.”
The one-piece design allows rapid access to a wired or wireless communication headset, installs easily with a single fastener, and can be adapted to retain a wide variety of equipment. The hooks are sold as a component of new Firecom apparatus communication systems, or as an accessory retrofit for existing installations.
