Rællic Systems Announces Licensing Agreement for General Dynamics’ PitBull Trusted Operating System
San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) August 06, 2014 -- Rællic Systems, which offers three levels of consumer messaging protection through client-side in-browser encryption, today made its capabilities stronger by licensing the PitBull trusted operating system from defense contractor General Dynamics C4 Systems.
PitBull is a custom, multi-level security software package that modifies and enhances Red Hat Enterprise Linux for trusted functionality and high assurance. Among other capabilities, the PitBull software (1) limits and prevents the spread of damage that malicious software can have on a system through strong access control and fine grained authorizations, permissions and labeled security protection enforcement; (2) controls what network resources are used by each program; (3) limits user and administrator accounts; and (4) enforces a mandatory access control security policy on any system to help harden the system against malicious software. The PitBull software, with its mandatory access controls, protective features, and auditing tools, is an ideal choice for Rællic Systems’ secure communications platform, Rællic.
“I’m thrilled at this opportunity to work with leaders in the field of information security, and I know that our company now has the means to carry out its goal of providing regular people with secure communications and communications assurance,” said Andrew Watters, Director of Rællic Systems. He added, “For more than 50 years, the U.S. government has trusted General Dynamics C4 Systems to ensure the security of the nation’s classified information, networks and secure environments-- the Pitbull product is part of that powerful legacy.”
Rællic protects customers from governmental and private sector intrusions by providing safe communication between clients using state-of-the-art communications security techniques. The software suite serves consumers in three modes, all of which protect communications from technological attack with in-browser 256-bit AES encryption, among other safeguards. Users have passphrases that they use to encrypt and decrypt the data they exchange, making the system secure from government and private snooping. The apps are meant for family, friends, and especially business colleagues who want to maintain their privacy in this era of the USA PATRIOT Act and other invasive laws.
