Retired US Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens to Visit Law Students at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago
(PRWEB) September 16, 2014 -- Retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens will visit with law students at The John Marshall Law School Thursday, Sept. 18.
Justice Stevens is visiting John Marshall at the request of the law school’s chapter of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honors Society, which is named Stevens Inn in Justice Stevens’s honor. The chapter will present Justice Stevens with the inaugural Gavel Award, which represents outstanding contributions to the promotion of service and professionalism in the legal industry.
John Marshall has a proud affiliation with Justice Stevens. Fred F. Herzog – the dean of John Marshall between 1976 and 1983 – was the last lawyer to appear before Stevens before his appointment to the Supreme Court in 1975.
