Access Helps Norman Regional Hospital Celebrate Its Staff During National Health IT Week 2014
Sulphur Springs, Texas (PRWEB) September 18, 2014 -- Each year, Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Okla., schedules a week of activities that coincide with National Health IT (NHIT) Week to celebrate the contributions of their information technology (IT/IS) professionals. To help Norman Regional show its gratitude, Access, the leading provider of paperless e-forms solutions for hospitals, is contributing giveaway items to support their NHIT Week program.
In addition to holding a prize drawing and offering free lunches, Norman Regional is spending time this week to educate staff members on core Meaningful Use requirements and how the hospital is meeting them.
“We’re grateful that Access has once again joined us in assisting with our National Health IT Week celebrations by providing gift cards, coffee cups and Green Paper Monsters for our staff prize drawings,” said Beth Summers, database analyst at Norman Regional.
For the past several years, Norman Regional has used Access’s paperless e-forms, electronic patient signature and clinical content bridge solutions to remove paper and reduce costs across the hospital. In patient registration, registrars set up a patient in the HIS and then generate a packet of bar-coded e-forms. Once the patient has completed forms and applied a secure electronic signature, these go directly into the correct patient’s EHR, without the need for manual indexing. Norman Regional also uses Access’s clinical content bridge solution to send data from EKG machines and other clinical devices into EHRs without generating paper output.
“Using Access’s solution means staff at our heart stations don’t have to scan anything into the record and we’ve eliminated a cumbersome manual process for staff,” Summers said.
