Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) October 02, 2014 -- Milbank has just launched a new manual transfer switch for use with portable generators. The switch is yet another offering in the company’s new intelligent energy management line. It features a patent-pending Learn function, which unlike existing transfer switches, allows the homeowner, via the transfer switch, to memorize the size of the portable generator connected to the switch, ensuring accurate, real-time diagnostics of power usage. The switch monitors power usage and illuminates the results on an LED display.
“The Manual Transfer Switch leverages our intelligent energy management technology that was used in our SynapSwitch, which was launched earlier this year,” explained Chris Buelow, General Manager, Milbank PowerGen™. “Our new transfer switch line is definitely taking switching technology to the next level in terms of performance, affordability, intelligence and flexibility.”
Milbank recently reengineered its production processes to facilitate high-speed, error-proof manufacturing of its new switch-related product line. Unlike Milbank’s traditional product lines, which entail steel fabrication using large presses and heavy machinery, the new production line was specifically engineered to manufacture our new intelligent product lines, which feature printed circuit boards and other sensitive componentry not found in our other products.
“Simply put, we needed a production line that was as intelligent as the products manufactured on it,” Buelow said.
The new manufacturing process incorporates industry-leading product quality, serialization and tracking systems. Every critical component is tracked from the moment it enters Milbank’s receiving dock to final customer installation. Each switch is 100% tested before a shipping label can even be generated.
The Milbank Manual Transfer Switch will be sold through Milbank’s channel partners across North America.
