MGO Reaches Its Drop in the Bucket Charity Goal and Will Help to Build Well in South Sudan
Beachwood, OH (PRWEB) October 09, 2014 -- MGO, a retirement, investment, and asset management firm, today announces that it has reached its target goal for its “Jeans for Water” charity initiative. The campaign was set up to provide fundraising support to Drop in the Bucket, a nonprofit organization devoted to providing clean, drinkable water to youth and villages in sub-Saharan Africa.
Through the “Jeans for Water” initiative, MGO employees who wish to wear jeans to the office can contribute $2 each work day – approximately $300 per year - and MGO will match all employee contributions. When the campaign began in February 2014, the goal was to reach $6,000, the approximate cost of drilling one well and providing water to a village of over 1,000 people.
Employees enthusiastically responded to the program, and staff member Belinda Dawson even ran her own outside fundraiser to help contribute. As of October, the $6,000 goal has been reached. The firm will continue to raise funds through the end of 2014, at which time all donations and corporate matching will be sent directly to Drop in the Bucket.
“We are very excited to reach our goal this early in the year,” said Ron Gross, CEO of MGO. “This means we can continue to raise funds and contribute even more than we were planning. Drop in the Bucket is a great organization and we’re very excited to have the opportunity to surpass our goal for the year.”
MGO will release total contribution figures after the program ends in December 2014.
