ScImage Achieves DIACAP Accreditation for Its Hybrid Cloud Medical Imaging Solution
Los Altos, CA (PRWEB) October 08, 2014 -- ScImage, Inc., announces PicomEnterprise 3.x has achieved accreditation as tested and verified by the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP). Critical to the accreditation is the receipt of the Authority to Operate (ATO) designation from the Defense Health Agency (DHA).
This DIACAP ATO extends accreditation to ScImage’s PACS through 2017. As an approved solutions provider under DINPACS III contract, ScImage’s multi-specialty enterprise PACS, PicomEnterprise, may now be deployed by all branches of the military, including the VA healthcare system.
"We have invested heavily in understanding and developing solutions tailored to meet the increasingly complex security and compliance demands of both the public and private sectors of healthcare. Receipt of the DIACAP accreditation and ATO validates these efforts and signals all public and private healthcare institutions that ScImage is ready to meet advanced security and compliance needs with features built right into PicomEnterprise,” stated ScImage Founder and CEO Sai P. Raya, Ph.D.
Since receiving its original accreditation in 2011, ScImage has implemented a global picture archive and communication system (PACS) for the Aeromedical Consultation Service, connecting 236 USAF Medical Treatment Facilities and Flight Clinics from around the globe to the ACS at Wright-Patterson AFB.
ScImage Government Programs Manager, John Loucks states “DIACAP certification requires a thorough and rigorous evaluation of software applications that operate on a DoD network to verify that they are highly secure and reliable. As part of the certification process, ScImage worked with USAF SG6 and DoD officials to configure, test and confirm that the PicomEnterprise complies with DoD security requirements.”
