John Grago Named New CEO of Greenbrier Academy
Alderson, WV (PRWEB) October 16, 2014 -- Greenbrier Academy is pleased to announce John Grago as its new CEO. Grago officially began his tenure on Oct. 10, 2014 after former CEO Dr. Mark Dennison’s decision to step down in pursuit of his lifelong dream of building his own therapeutic school for boys in Alabama. Greenbrier Academy wishes Dr. Dennison the best and looks forward to great things from him.
Not only has Grago been with Greenbrier for six years, but he has worked closely with the founding members of the school at other programs for the last 10 years. During that time, Grago has served on the clinical staff as a Counselor, a Director and as Head of Admissions.
Speaking of the transition, Grago says, “The word that comes to mind is 'excited.' I've always been compassionate with a strong desire to help others. Greenbrier is the perfect place to continue that mission. I love it here and respect and admire the staff we have. Most importantly, I think the girls we get the chance to work with are exceptional. Nothing pleases me more than seeing them find hope and make changes that will empower their futures.”
Speaking for the group, Board President, L. Jay Mitchell said, “This has been a long time coming. We are excited that John is finally able to take the reins. Looking back over the past 15 years we have been working together, it is like he has been groomed just for this role. No one understands the different roles and pressures that make the school work better than John. He knows the model we use, because he lives it. It changed his life, so he knows the impact it has when embraced.”
Looking forward, Grago seeks to continue to lead Greenbrier Academy in the successful course it has established. There will be opportunities to expand services, unique ways to apply the relationality philosophy and enhance the exceptional work being done.
“That's the thing with working in this field,” says Grago. “You can never quit trying to get better. Never be satisfied with the status quo. We can always get better at helping people.”
