Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar Opens at the Henry Ford Imax Theatre on Nov. 4th
Dearborn, Mich. (PRWEB) November 04, 2014 -- Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Interstellar, from director Christopher Nolan, opens today at The Henry Ford IMAX Theatre in IMAX® 15-perforation/70mm film two days ahead of its nationwide release. Tickets are now available from Nov. 5 onward by visiting http://www.thehenryford.org/imax, or calling 313-982-6001.
Continuing the legacy begun by IMAX trailblazer Christopher Nolan and his use of IMAX® 15-perforation/70mm film cameras in The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, sixty-six minutes of Interstellar was shot using these same cameras. Exclusively at The Henry Ford IMAX Theatre, these sequences will expand to fill the entire screen—Michigan’s largest—and will deliver unprecedented crispness and clarity, providing audiences with the best-possible immersive cinematic experience.
The Henry Ford offers The IMAX Experience® featuring 15-perforation/70mm film projection which combines the brightest, clearest images at almost ten times the resolution of standard projection formats, with powerful, laser-aligned surround sound and a 62-foot-tall by 85-foot-wide screen to create Michigan’s most immersive movie experience. The advance engagement highlights those film-based theaters like The Henry Ford, who are presenting Interstellar in its native IMAX 15/70 format.
Those sequences of Interstellar shot in 35mm film have been re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX 15/70 Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. At upwards of 16k resolution in 2D, the crystal-clear 15/70 images create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
