Tedia Adopts Specifications to Lower Sulfur and Nitrogen in Two Major Solvents
(PRWEB) December 01, 2014 -- Tedia Company, Inc., a leading producer of high purity chemical solvents, has lowered the sulfur and nitrogen specifications for two of its major products to the lowest limits available under current manufacturing standards.
The new specifications are for Toluene and 2,2,4-Trimethylpentane, products widely used in petrochemical refineries, food and beverage manufacturing, and for environmental monitoring.
Chris Dendy, Vice President, stated the new specifications will help protect catalyst in petrochemical refining, and will comply with government regulations on fuel efficiency that are driven by catalysts in modern fuel-injected engines.
"We adopted specifications to reduce sulfur and nitrogen in Toluene and 2,2,4-Trimethylpentane in direct response to requests from customers," Chris Dendy said. "Customer service is Tedia's top priority and we are pleased to take this step that will satisfy the needs of our customers and provide other important advantages."
The new specifications for Toluene call for a maximum of 200 ppb for nitrogen and 30 ppb for sulfur. The specifications for 2,2,4-Trimethylpentane are 300 ppb for nitrogen and 30 ppb for sulfur.
"These updated specifications are the lowest limits that can be reliably obtained at this time for these solvents and set an industry-high standard for reducing the presence of sulfur and nitrogen in these products," Chris Dendy said.
Toluene and 2,2,4-Trimethylpentane produced under the new specifications are available in one-liter, four-liter and other package options. They have been use-tested for consistent quality. Like all Tedia products, the solvents are manufactured using Tedia's proprietary T2P2 system that produces the highest-quality solvents. Information about the products, including specifications, safety data, testing methods and statistical process control charts, is instantly available using a Quick Response (QR) code on the label.
