California Healthcare Institute Announces Leadership Change
La Jolla, CA (PRWEB) January 20, 2014 -- California Healthcare Institute (CHI) announced today that David L. Gollaher, Ph.D., has resigned as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective February 14, to assume a public policy position in the biopharmaceutical industry.
“David co-founded CHI in 1993 as an organization dedicated to researching and advocating policy to forward the interests of the California based biomedical and research community,” said Rick E. Winningham, Chairman, CHI Board of Directors and Executive Committee. “It is truly a direct result of David’s vision and his passion that CHI has evolved to become the leading public policy voice for the biomedical community in California. Our membership is incredibly grateful to David for all he has done on behalf of California based biomedical community and we wish him the best as he begins an exciting new chapter in his career.”
A search committee comprised of members of the CHI Board of Directors has been formed in order to identify a new President and CEO of CHI. Todd E. Gillenwater, who currently serves as Senior Vice President, Public Policy, will serve as interim President and Chief Executive Officer until a permanent successor is named.
“I am pleased that Todd Gillenwater has accepted the role as interim President and Chief Executive Officer,” said Winningham. “The board looks forward to working with Todd and the CHI staff in La Jolla, Sacramento and Washington D.C. to build upon David’s 20 year record of policy leadership and to ensure that CHI continues to serve our members in advancing policies which promote healthcare research and innovation in California.”
