Washington DC (PRWEB) February 05, 2015 -- The Center for Responsible Enterprise and Trade (CREATe.org) announces that arvato Bertelsmann has used its service, CREATe Leading Practices for IP Protection, as part of its implementation of ISO 27001 Information Security Certification.
The CREATe Leading Practices service supported arvato’s efforts to quickly assess the information security and IP protection systems in place; and gain insights into the elements of an effective IP protection program. With inspiration from the 200+ page CREATe Leading Practices Guide to Improving Your IP Protection Program and other resources, arvato also assembled a “toolbox” including a blueprint for supplier risk assessment, and essential contract components on IP protection, including those for information security and data security.
“The CREATe Leading Practices service provided insights that were helpful with the ISO 27001 certification process, and also provided the framework for a more comprehensive IP protection program that extends beyond information security,” stated Stefan Miernik, Chief Information Security officer for arvato.
“As a global service provider that works across value chains, it is imperative that arvato achieve the highest standards of information security and IP protection. CREATe Leading Practices is based on a management systems approach to intellectual property protection – making it complementary to other business processes,” stated Pamela Passman, President and CEO of CREATe.
CREATe Leading Practices for IP Protection is a three-step service that helps companies assess and improve management systems for the prevention of counterfeits, piracy, trade secret theft and other IP infringement. Companies around the world are using CREATe Leading Practices both internally and with supply chain partners. The service is available in Chinese, English, Portuguese and Spanish.
