2015 ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving!® 11-City Tour Announced
Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 02, 2015 -- This Saturday, March 7, 2015, the National Alliance for Hispanic Health kicks off the 2015 ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving!® 11-city event series in Phoenix, Arizona with local community-based organization partner, Concilio Latino de Salud. For the fifth straight year, Newman’s Own Foundation joins the Healthy Americas Foundation as national supporter of this unique event series, which brings health and wellness programming to Hispanic communities. The series is implemented in partnership with Univision Communications, the Embassy of Mexico, and the United States Tennis Association.
“Now in its ninth year, ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving! is the nation’s largest annual event series promoting healthy lifestyles in Hispanic communities,” said Dr. Jane L. Delgado, President and CEO of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health, the nation’s leading Hispanic health advocacy group. “Driven by a “can-do” volunteer spirit, ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving! is working neighbor-to-neighbor to support healthier environments and to realize the collective vision of our communities for a stronger and healthier nation.”
The events focus on good nutrition education and access to healthy food options, such as farmers’ markets; life-saving health screenings; and, a variety of opportunities for physical activity and sports for the entire family. ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving! events are also free of tobacco as well as alcohol and unhealthy food sponsors whose advertising blights the physical landscape of too many communities.

¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving!® events are free, and all participants are provided with the opportunity to register for the National Alliance for Hispanic Health’s Buena Salud® Club. This free membership club is designed to promote healthy lifestyles by providing year-round reliable and confidential health information and provider referrals.
The kick-off ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving!® event will be held March 7, 2015, at John R. Davis Elementary School at 6209 S. 15th Avenue in Phoenix, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
