Westchester Library System Presents Breakfast with Frank Bruni
Tarrytown, NY (PRWEB) March 19, 2015 -- The Westchester Library System (WLS) will present Breakfast with Frank Bruni – Celebrating Westchester Libraries: Unlimited Possibilities! on Wednesday, April 15th at Tappan Hill Mansion, Tarrytown, NY. The event celebrates the National Library Week theme Unlimited Possibilities @ Your Library. The special guest speaker is Frank Bruni, Op-Ed columnist for the New York Times and accomplished author. The Master of Ceremonies is Sue Guzman, Westchester Bureau Chief and afternoon news anchor for WHUD Radio. To date, sponsors include Entergy, Lothrop Associates and University of Fashion.
Proceeds from this event will fund Unlimited Possibilities Mini-Grants supporting free public programs in Westchester public libraries, including Creative Aging programs, Environmental Literacy workshops, Digital Literacy and so much more. Initiated with funding from Con Edison, Entergy, and H.W. Wilson Foundation, Unlimited Possibilities Mini Grants will help libraries and librarians in their role as change agents within their communities – transforming lives through innovative educational resources and forward-thinking programming. Librarians work with elected officials, small business owners, students and the public at large to discover and meet the needs of their communities. Whether through offering e-books and technology classes, materials for English-language learners, programs for job seekers or offering a safe haven in times of crisis, librarians listen to the community they serve, and they respond.
The Breakfast, held from 8:00am – 10:00am, will be followed by an author signing. Ticket prices for the Breakfast are $80 for general admission. For more information on sponsorships, journal ads or to purchase tickets, please call (914) 231-3241 or visit http://www.westchesterlibraries.org
